Woman Maccabees Elect Officers in Bryan Review No. 120

The annual election of officers for the Woman's Benefit Association of the Maccabees Bryan Review No. 120 resulted in Mrs. J. M. Spreckelmeyer as commander and a slate including Mrs. H. B. McDowell lieutenant commander and Miss Edna Willard as Ensign No. 2. Other elected officers include Mrs. J. W. Denman past commander and Mrs. R. S. Mawhinney record keeper with posts for finance auditor chaplain sergeant at arms and color bearers among several roles.

Accident injures child struck by public safety item

A 5 year old Black child from the Edge community was accidentally struck in the abdomen yesterday by a 22 caliber target public safety item. He was taken to Bryan for treatment and the attending physician reports the injuries are not life threatening. The Eagle could not determine the exact event details or the person’s name.

Poultry Raisers Hold Enthusiastic Brazos County Meeting

The Brazos County Poultry Association met at 8 p.m. with President C. E. Jenkins presiding. Plans for the January 27 and 28 exhibit include exhibits moved to the old power plant building and cooperation with Bryan Woman's Club committees. Donations from numerous supporters were announced as preparations proceed.

Elm trees ordered from C. Kirtley & Son of Cameron and twenty pecan trees given to Judge Maloney by Mr. Kirtley have arrived. Holes around the court house are dug and ready for immediate planting.

Bryan City Council Hears Wagon Yard Plan and Rail Track Complaints

The Bryan city council, with Mayor Harris presiding, discusses creating a wagon yard for rural traders funded by a $25 monthly lease and city utilities. Mrs. J. C. Scott Dies Suddenly in Franklin

Mrs. J. C. Scott, wife of District Judge Leo Scott, died suddenly at the family home in Franklin Tex on a Thursday night. She fell ill in the night and died before a physician could be summoned. She left three sons and one daughter.

Belgica Sunk. 23 Crew Saved Reported

London report states the Spanish steamer Belgica was sunk with 23 crew members saved. Advices received today confirm the loss of the vessel and indicate survivors are accounted for.

Widow of Judge J C Scott Buried in Franklin

Mrs. Scott widow of Judge J C Scott died after moving to Franklin Texas from Virginia about twenty five years ago. Judge Scott previously served as district attorney for six years and was elected district judge in 1900. Her remains were buried in Franklin cemetery on Saturday.
