Bandits Kill Two Americans Near Palo Blanco

Laredo Jan 8 Captain Kent Hunter reports Earl Bowles and E J Roney of International Oil were ambushed and killed two miles north of Palo Blanco in the Tuxpam district. Dallas district helps 18000 disabled veterans seek training

Dallas January 9. More than 18000 applications from disabled former soldiers were processed in 1919 by the Dallas district vocations board covering Texas Oklahoma and Arkansas. Of these 15467 fell under the director’s supervision and 11301 were recommended for instruction at government expense. Only 2619 agreed to enter training and about 1377 were actually in school. Agricultural and mechanical colleges lead in preference.
