Easterly Texas Fire Destroys Stores and Post Office
The town of Easterly eight miles east of Franklin was nearly wiped out by a fire Saturday night. The Martin dry goods store where the blaze started, plus two Bradbury & Co. buildings and the post office, burned. Insurance on the Martin stock was $1500 and Bradbury & Co. $4000. building losses exceeded insured amounts.

Wilson's Bond Fixed in Brazos Arson Case

Death of Pioneer Woman Mrs Haswell in Bryan
Susan Haswell a Texas pioneer died January 2 in Bryan at age 87. Born in Covington Kentucky August 14 1838 she came to Texas in 1840 and later settled in Brazos county. She helped found St Andrews Episcopal Church and is survived by son Tyler Haswell and daughter Mrs J D Irons plus seven grandchildren. Funeral held at Tyler Haswell home with interment in City Cemetery.
