Fred Doferstein died February 1 at his daughter Mrs. Sam Luther's home after long illness. Born in Europe, he came to Bryan in 1885 and lived there most of his life. He was 79 years, 9 months and 14 days old and a member of the Kurten German church. Funeral services were held at the family residence led by Rev. J. J. Kasiski. He is survived by one daughter, nine grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Pallbearers included Joe Paradouski, William Berger, J. C. Foster, Antone Blazek, Martin Dultch, and Joe Rosprim.
