Cotton marketing plan discussed at Commercial Club

County Agent Benson urged the Commercial Club to adopt a cotton marketing plan allowing sale by grade and staple. Reports from farmers and towns claim big savings and premiums for quality cotton, with an example showing a bale value gain of about 55 cents per pound due to staple. The issue was referred to the agricultural committee for next meeting. Airship Station 10 to be established on Mexican border

Washington reports the first army airship station on the Mexican border will be organized immediately at El Paso by eight balloon companies under Lt. Byron T. Burt. When the hangar is finished, one twin engine airship will be placed in service for border patrol experiments.

Embargo on Cotton Seeds Brings Loss from Deterioration

Family Reunion at P L Barron Home Pleases Large Group

More than thirty people gathered Friday at the Rock Prairie home of P L Barron for an old-time family reunion. Attendees arrived around 9 a.m. and stayed into the afternoon enjoying games for the youth and conversation for adults. A noon dinner featured barbecued pig, mutton, and kid with traditional country desserts. Koppe Bridge Closed For Repairs

County Engineer Boyett announced Koppe bridge will be closed to traffic starting Monday for three to four days for needed repairs. Crews will work quickly and traffic will reopen at the earliest moment.
