Auto Wreck Kills Charles Schiehine Jr In Rockdale

At Rockdale on the Rockdale Thorndale highway a Ford roadster carrying Charles Schiehine Jr 19 died almost instantly when it struck a wagon and a second wagon tongue penetrated the car. Miss Charlsey Gregory was critically injured with skull fractures and Jack Clifton suffered facial injuries. The funeral for Schiehine will be held this afternoon at Rockdale Cemetery with Rev N H Melbert delivering the address.

Cotton buyer J L Mullino dies after river finding

J L Mullino of Hillsboro, a prominent Central Texas cotton buyer, was found in a dazed condition on the Bosque River bank at China Springs, 15 miles north of Waco. He died later in a Waco sanitarium from acute indigestion.

Miss M Helen Higgins and Mr Edward Everett Davis were married at the A and M College campus in Nacogdoches. Rev R C White officiated. The couple plans a honeymoon to Houston and Mexico City before settling in Nacogdoches. Higgins is state agent of the home demonstration department and Davis is a professor of education at the State Teachers College.

Heat Wave Ruins Brazos County Crops

Boy finds body of aged father in debris of fire

In Houston on August 27 Herman Lentschke a 68 year old watchman at Texas Barrel Works died in a plant fire. His son 15 spent the night searching the ruins and found the body today. The blaze caused about 30000 dollars in damage when a spark from the boiler area ignited shavings.
