GOLDEN August 21 After burglars raided John Robinson's store several times the merchant set a trap on his cash register. A 22 caliber rifle fired when the drawer opened and struck him in the hip. He was not fatally injured.
Nick Namer and Art Walker completed a 7 290 mile trans continental flight in 115 hours 45 minutes and landed at Felts Field Spokane at 1 43 p m Tuesday after refueling routes via San Francisco and the north. They were ordered to land by the National Air Derby Association at 6 p m.
John Edge Jr a Bryan boy and geologist with a major oil company has been transferred from Mississippi to Texas with headquarters in San Antonio He spent the past weekend in Bryan with his mother Mrs John S Edge and his two sisters Althea and Hettie Edge
A Dallas woman told by the district attorney that no law covers a barber cutting her daughter's hair without the mother's knowledge. The mother, with husband and daughter, complained that the hair was cut after the mother had labored to grow it.
District Attorney William C. McCraw of Dallas and Ranger Capt. Tom Hickman with Sheriff Hal Hood face contempt charges after stopping a Dallas prize fight. They, cited for contempt, opposed an injunction blocking interference with the bout as Judge Fountain Kirby of Fairfield presided.

Mrs Frank Powell and Mrs R R Broach were feted as brides of the month at a Wii shower by the Young Business Women’s Bible Class of the First Baptist Sunday School. The event, Monday at 650 pm, was held at Sue Haswell Park with Charley Myers supervising.
Mrs. J. B. Dobyne and her children traveled to Montgomery Alabama for a visit to Mrs. Dobyne's childhood home. A Baltimore sister and two Atlanta brothers will join their mother for a reunion at the old residence.

Fire early today at the Majestic Hotel in Galveston caused about 10000 dollars in damage. Guests fled into the street in scanty attire as flames swept portions of the building.

Mr and Mrs Harvey Baker tourists from Fairfield were seriously injured on highway 75 one mile north of Madisonville when their car was forced from the pavement into a ditch by a road worker’s truck. They were taken to Madisonville for surgical care and later returned home by ambulance.
Twelve Jersey milch cows at the H. H. Gillham place south of Canyon died after they gorged on barley from feed bins. Only one cow survived, Gillham reported.
