Alleged Thief Escapes Through Car Window at Wills Point

Caruso Dies in Naples After Sudden Illness

World famed tenor Enrico Caruso died in Naples today after a sudden illness. Reports say he underwent an operation for an abscess between the liver and diaphragm to treat acute peritonitis, with his wife and brother at his bedside. He had been seriously ill since last winter and arrived in Naples Saturday night.

Saladiner Poisoning Machine Demonstrated at A and M College

At the Farmers Short Course the Saladiner Poisoning Machine, perfected by J M Salainer of Bryan after 18 years, was shown. It uses dry poisons or liquid sprays, or both, and is two machines in one. It can poison day or night, covers five rows, and requires one man or two mule teams, with settings to adapt to row widths. Tests by A and M College entomology are planned for boll weevils using calcium arsenate.

News from Bryan reports the death of Bud Cooner of Millican at 12:25 this morning. He was about 58, survived by wife, daughter, and son, with long residence in Brazos county. Masonic services were held this afternoon at 4 at Bryan lodge, followed by burial in Millican cemetery.
