Man Kills Wife and Self After Bigamy Arrest in Alpine
H M Harris, a life insurance agent, killed his wife and then himself at the Holland Hotel in Alpine Texas after being arrested on bigamy charges. He had claimed papers would clear him and extended the deputy to his hotel room before shots rang out. The woman died quickly and Harris lived for about thirty minutes.
