Merchants urged to donate prizes for county fair
Fred Hale proposes supplementing cash prizes at the American Legion Free County fair with merchandise prizes offered by local merchants. He argues merchant gifts would require little cash outlay while boosting attention to local goods and Bryan's role as a farm and home supply center. The plan contrasts with current prizes funded by the chamber from broad contributions.
