Second Division Plans Anniversary Celebration on Division Day

Bryan Little Theater presented the one act Brazos Bottom at the Dallas Little Theatre marking nearly its first anniversary. The trio of roles will be played by Sankey Park, Joe Woolker, and Raymond Withers under director Mrs. Paul Stevens who is one of the youngest Little Theater directors in the state. The Bryan group, formed February 10 1926, now has eighty active members and is pushing for a city auditorium.

Missionary Society Holds April Meeting at Hosts’ Home
The Woman's Missionary Society of the First Christian Church met in April at the homes of Mrs. John H. Allen and Mrs. A. L. Darnell. Mrs. Ernest Langford presided. Officers elected for the coming year were D. S. Buchanan president, Geo. L. Crawford secretary treasurer, D. E. Dishman vice president, J. W. Barton reporter. The program, led by Mrs. Buchanan, focused on Japan and its missionary needs with readings on Signs of the Times in Japan and a discussion on The Most Interesting Thing I Know About Japan. A prayer for Christian workers in Japan closed the session, with strawberry ice cream and cakes served by the hostesses and Mrs. Ralph E. Hill. The May meeting will be at Mrs. LeRoy Davidson’s home in College.

AUSTIN April 6 Five bills including raises for railroad commissioners supreme appellate and district judges were approved by Governor Moody. He signed eight laws without his signature and an emergency appropriation of 180000 for Texas Tech and Texas A and M College plus the Live Stock Sanitary Commission. Railroad commissioners will earn 6000 yearly, judges salaries rise to 8000 for Supreme Court justices 7000 for appellate court justices and 5000 for district judges.
