Polo Ball Causes It Death Of Nathan Swift
Nathan Swift son of Louis F. Swift died after being struck on the temple by a polo ball at Owentsla field during a game on Saturday. The injury initially seemed trifling but dizziness and delirium followed, leading to his death Sunday. Teammates included Frederick McLaughlin W. W. Rathbone Walter Farwell Sidney Lowe Walter Keith B R McCormick and Charles Garfield King.

Freight train collision kills foreman in Henderson yard
In Henderson North Carolina on September 21 a Seaboard Air Line freight farm collided with a rear car in the yards. Bridge foreman W. S. Brown died from the crash and two cotton cars were splintered and burned. A coroner's inquest found Brown's death resulted from negligence by the engineer of the second section of the train.

Wilder's Brigade Reunion Ends at Chickamauga Park
The Wilder brigade annual gathering closed at the battlefield monument in Chickamauga park Chattanooga Tennessee. Religious services were held with nearly all veterans present. Several hundred visitors departed for Atlanta and intermediate battlefields.

Paris Journalistic Figure Dies After Stroke
James L. Ferriere, a veteran New York newspaper man and former editor of the Paris edition of the New York Herald, died in Paris on Sunday from a paralytic stroke. His wife, in distress, killed herself shortly after. Ferriere had joined the Associated Press in 1897 and worked in its Paris office at the time of his death.
