The Daily Eagle reports John Thompson is a candidate for Brazos County Precinct No. 1 commissioner in the upcoming November election. The Bowie cotton carnival drew 1680 bales of cotton on 900 wagons in a three mile parade with decorated floats, queens, bands, riders, and crowds. Premiums totaling one thousand dollars were awarded to farmers.

Logan Walter, colored, was shot in the head and killed by Arthur Carter known as Hot Carter on the C. W. and B. V. railroad south of town where both men worked as section hands.
