Helena Montana October 4 a grand jury was empanelled in Judge Smiths court to investigate the lynching of James Brady charged with assaulting a 5 year old girl and hanged by a mob early Thursday. Lincoln Nebraska October 4 1910. For 11 months officials at the Nebraska state penitentiary believed a prisoner named Burt Martin was a man. The prison physician two days ago revealed the convict is a woman named Lena Martin. She had been tried and convicted at Springview for horse stealing. A cell mate hinted at forthcoming investigations.
