Knox Seen as Pennsylvania Choice for Roosevelt Successor
Washington dispatch says United States Senator Philander C. Knox of Pennsylvania will be endorsed by the Pennsylvania Republican convention meeting June 6 as the party’s candidate for president to succeed Theodore Roosevelt. The move aligns with Roosevelt policies, and Knox’s prior service as attorney general under Roosevelt and his role in the Northern Securities case bolster the administration’s aims. Roosevelt is expected to approve the convention’s action.
