Cornersville Club Holds Farewell Meeting in 1872 Era
Three of five surviving Cornersville Club members met for a farewell dinner at the Central Hotel. Col. Harvey Mitchell hosted with C W Mitchell of Bryan and J K Street of Houston among attendees, while guests included Major J W Tabor and Galveston relative Oscar Baldside. The club, organized in Bryan in 1820 at Col Harvey Mitchell’s home, began with twelve members.
