Retreat Movements as Linovitch Regroups in Manchuria

Tragic Grover Shoe Plant Explosion Claims Dozens

In Brockton Massachusetts a boiler blast at the Grover Shoe Company killed and injured many workers. Fifty three bodies recovered by 2 am with about the same number missing. Rescue efforts and sacrifices by bystanders and Rev. J O Rourke are noted as flames swept through the ruined factory.

Fire at Tishomingo levels Ardmore hotel and stores

Ardmore reports a blaze starting around 9 PM at the Fisher hotel in Tishomingo, a three story building valued at 17000 dollars. The fire spread east destroying Monk hardware store Mrs. Connors millinery M London’s racket store and Bailey and Mason’s grocery house by 10 PM Grand Leader store also affected.

Judge Rutherford arraigned on assault and weapon charges

Rutherford was arraigned in the Federal court room after shooting twice at W A Durant. He was held to the grand jury in 2000 dollars bond and found guilty of carrying concealed weapons with a 50 dollar fine plus costs.
