Senate Passes Bill After House Sustains Veto
The senate passed the bill over yew while the house sustained the veto. The veto read yesterday and sent to the senate committee on internal improvements. The suit to forfeit the Austin and Northwestern railroad charter and possible state prejudice in consolidation factor into the veto. The law may be unconstitutional. The senate spent its time on the general appropriation bill as the house approved several bills of lesser importance.
