General Bills Routed to Conference to Curb Filibuster
Washington March 2 The Republican managers in the house ordered a rule to send general bills with senate amendments to conference and reported it favorably. It adopts senate methods used on appropriation bills to cut off roll calls and eliminates the previous question on conference reports. Richardson opposed, but the speaker declined. Roll call on the pending question was ordered and the report passed 207 to 3.
