Boy Shot While Swimming Near Island Queen Incident
In Cincinnati on July 30 Charles Hawks aged sixteen was shot by an unknown person as the steamer Island Queen moved up the Ohio River near Whittaker street. Hawks and other boys were swimming when the shot rang out. police investigated but found no one who heard the shot or saw the assailant.
