Local notices and social snippets from Hearne to Millican
Farmers and townsfolk appear in brief items with names and places: illnesses in Millican and Rock Prairie, visits to Austin, milk delivery starting March 1, and a slate of residents from Grimes County. The piece notes a mild smallpox case on Brazos bottom, a restaurant for late meals, a marriage at Chas. Claydon’s home in Tabor, Texas, and various travelers from Madison, Dallas, and New Orleans. It also advertises bulk garden seeds and a theater date for El Capitan on March 1.

Keith at Gum Springs drew a nice congregation with afternoon singing. Also notes on rent for a four room residence in eastern town and advertisements for wallpapers and room mouldings by Lon Johnson with a price list.
