Bryan Texas February 9 1907 Democratic Executive Committee adopts rules for a February 21 1907 primary to nominate City Secretary City Marshal and three Aldermen. Jno Ettle named judge and candidates to be listed by February 18 with fees due February 19. Voters must affidavit as white Democrat, voting full ticket. Names listed: Jno A Moore Jr Chn E Saunders Geo W Smith F C Oliver.
The Providence cemetery working calls for all interested to attend February 22 to clean up plant trees and beautify the graveyard. B L Dowling signs the notice and urges participation.
The Eagle endorses T P Boyett for re election to the office of City Marshal of Bryan subject to the democratic party action. Boyett is a lifelong Bryan resident and has served as marshal for several years impartially and efficiently. The paper submits his claims to the voters and thanks supporters for past confidence.
The Eagle notes voter interest in a piano contest explained in an advertisement. Participating groups include Texas Woman's College and Villa Maria with tallies for individual contestants such as Mrs Louise Martin and Miss Pearle Gandy. Other organizers include Methodist and Christian Churches and Allen Academy with scores listed for several hopefuls.
