Nation Saloon Smashing Defeated in Topeka Riot
Mrs. Carrie Nation led six women to smash a Topeka East Sixth Street saloon provoking a street brawl. Nation was disarmed, arrested for disturbing the peace, and later released on recognizance after a police station prayer service. In Pittsburg Kansas, women attacked two McCune saloons, destroying furniture and liquor valued around 1500. no arrests.

Texas Legislature Ends Half Hour of Resolutions
In Austin on February 5 the house failed to dispose of the Hogg invitation resolution after adopting Garner’s amendment to invite ex Governor Hogg to discuss the Hogg amendments.
