Train Collision Kills Conductor in Easton Crash
Akron Colo Feb 3 A work train at forty miles per hour on the Baltimore and Ohio railroad near Easton struck a caboose and coal cars that had broken away from the freight train. Conductor William Miles of New Castle was killed and Brakeman J R Cooney of New Castle fatally injured. Miles was pinned in wreckage and roasted to death as the fire started after the crash. Miles and Cooney were asleep in the caboose.

Baby farmers hanged in England for first time since 1800
Amelia Sach and Annie Walters, known as baby farmers, were hanged at Holloway jail after mercy pleas failed. The execution marked the first English hanging of a woman since March 1800 as they displayed fortitude walking to the scaffold. Gurley also executed in St. Louis for the murder of Rosie Higgins in the jail yard with onlookers present.
