Poison Drink Sicken Soldiers On Mi Island Camp
Reports say a beverage made from columba root was served at a Keithley Minda Wao island camp near Keithley on Dec 15. Ten died and thren are seriously ill in the Eighteenth infantry, with names of dead and ill withheld pending official cable. The beverage reportedly contained columbic acid, a plant extract. The last death occurred December 17.

Bank Robbery Hits Ceresco and Nearby Towns in One Night
Robbers struck the State Bank of Ceresco eighteen miles north of Lincoln at 1:30 AM, overpowering a boy, blasting vaults, and taking about 3000 dollars. Clarence Boyle was seized and gagged outside as the gang fled by automobile. Later reports say Chase, Chase county bank was robbed, and on Friday Keene and Gibbons banks were looted. The same likely gang is suspected to have carried out all the robberies.

Taylor Testifies on Night Riders Murder Details
In Union City Tennessee Judge Jones warned ministers against referencing night rider cases in sermons as Colonel R Z Taylor testified. He described being taken from Ward's hotel by masked men with Rankin, Rankin murdered at a forked tree, a rope raised him, a gunshot fired as Rankin pleaded. Taylor escaped by slipping into a slough amid gunfire while sobbing at recollection. He could not positively identify any of the assailants.
