Salty deep well test yields high water remains near surface
In Clarksville Texas on December 13 the deep square well was tested. The pump ran seventeen hours lifting fifteen gallons per minute but could not lower the water which stays within twenty feet of the surface. The 800 foot well produced very salty water with strong gas indications. An eighth inch pipe in the pump’s air chamber filled with gas lit and spouted a flame twelve to eighteen inches high all night. Discovery attracts interest though supply extent remains undetermined.
