Texas Conference Appointments Listed for 1899
The Texas conference announced appointments for the coming year. Rev. E L Shettles of Austin is assigned to the Bryan church and Rev J P Skinner to the Millican circuit. Rev J C Mickle remains Huntsville district presiding elder and Rev J B Cochran to Brenham district. Shettles will preach at the Methodist church next Sunday in Bryan.

On Christmas day the women of the Palmetto state will present Lieutenant Blue of the United States Navy a handsome medal as a testimonial of his services in the Spanish American War. The medal was raised by the Association for Patriotic Award formed a year ago led by Mrs. Ellison Capers wife of Bishop Capers. Washington reports show cotton crop estimates at 5,900,000 bales with production areas and yields for several states revised downward.
