Williams Leads Fight Against Old House Rules
Washington December 3 Representative John Sharp Williams tried to defeat adoption of the old house rules, aided by Mr Cooper of Wisconsin, but the effort failed. The rules were deemed too autocratic with Hon W J Bryan present on the floor as Democrats voiced opposition. Senate military affairs committee read letters and Browns ville measurements in Brownsville investigation ahead of its next report. A Democratic senators meeting Wednesday will pick a new caucus chairman to lead the minority with Culberson favored.
