Elks Annual Memorial Services Held Sunday

Bryan Lodge No.859 B P O Elks held their annual memorial services at the opera house Sunday at 3 pm. District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler W. S. Howell presided. The program featured addresses by B. F. McNulty and Judge J. C. Muse, music selections, prayers, and tributes to honored dead.

Sermon by Rev. Challenner at Christian Church

Rev. Jas Challenner former Artesia pastor preached Sunday at 10:50 am and 7:00 pm. He urged unity in diversity and urged members to “Each one win one” and “Double our membership,” tying the sermon to soul saving and active church work. The Sunday night message was “Christ Crucified.”

Clifton and Buchanan couple wed in Harvey home ceremony

Mr N S Clifton of Fort Worth and Miss Winnie Buchanan of Harvey were married Sunday at 4 30 pm in the bride’s home. Rev J J Tatum officiated before relatives and close friends. Miss Gussie Buchanan played the wedding march. The bride, daughter of Mr and Mrs M G Buchanan, is educated at Bethel Academy and the Girls School of Industrial Arts. The groom works for Wells Fargo Express in Fort Worth. The couple left yesterday for Fort Worth.
