Aug 29 Philadelphia reports the steamer City of Trenton exploded its port boiler en route to Trenton WJ. injury and death tally include J D Chew assistant engineer and Miss Elisabeth Green of Philadelphia among four missing. The ship caught fire and ran aground opposite Torresdale with many injured or scalded as debris and a piano were hurled into the river.
