Wolf Attacks Woman in Orchard Near Rockwall Texas
In Rockwall Texas on August 21 Mrs. Campbell Dowell was mauled by a large gray wolf while in her orchard four miles east. The wolf seized her right arm and caused severe lacerations. Her husband Mr Dowell rushed to aid, but his gun misfired and he beat the wolf to death. A madstone was applied to the wounds to check possible rabies.
