Yang Tsung Taken as Supply Base in China Campaign
The capture of Yang Tsun, a key objective en route to Pekin, was reported from Che Foo and Tokyo sources. American losses quoted include about 60 casualties, with Lt. Frank R. Joney among the wounded, as the advance bases extend toward Tien Tsun and Pekin. A larger 50 000 strong Allied force is planned to move on Aug. 15, with Yang Tsun serving as a critical supply and communication point.
