Mob of Twenty Five Breaks Homer Parish Jail

Fought pistol duel wounds lawyers in Birmingham
In Birmingham on Thursday morning R L Leatherwood and W A Denson, prominent young lawyers, fired five times each in a South Twentieth street duel. Denson was wounded in leg and neck but will recover. Caswell, a negro drayman, was slightly hit. The feud began after both men reported the other to the State Bar for alleged ethics violations. Denson, son of former congressman W H Denson, struck Leatherwood with a pipe, wounding him severely.
