Boiler Blast Kills Three at Sawmill Near Bethania
In Winston Salem North Carolina on April 23 a boiler explosion at Shore and Mosher’s sawmill near Bethania killed three men Luther George George and Logan. Luther George was decapitated by debris while George Logan died from scalding. The blast sent part of the boiler 300 feet and was blamed on low water.
