Appeal Filed Over Rice Estate Assignment Order
Surrogate Fitz gerald ordered Cantwell and Moore to file the alleged February 17 1900 Rice to Patrick assignment the September 21 1900 stock deposit assignment and related letters. Cantwell and Moore filed a notice of appeal on Friday with a hearing possibly in two to three months. Neighbors move to advance 250000 to rebuild the Houston oil plant. Patrick objects as risky and potentially irreparable to the estate.

Bowling Green college scandal indicts five wealthy youths
Five affluent Bowling Green men, and members of elite social circles, face grand jury indictments over an April escapade at Potter's College. They allegedly used a ladder to invade a campus window and lure several female students, who are named in the indictments, while President Prof Cabell fired at the intruders. the men say the plan was to take the girls to a duck supper.

Insane mother burns infant to death in West Virginia
In Parkersburg on April 6 a 1-year-old child of Mrs. Morris was held by its mother and burned to death. Authorities attribute the act to insanity. The family resided in Stanton where the mother showed signs of distress and claimed she was weary of caring for the child before the fatal act.
