Telegraphing Without Any Wire?
Washington April 6 officers of the final corps of the army expect to flash messages to Fort Meyer via electric waves without wires. Experiments at Fort Meyer show 1000 yard transmissions using Marconi style methods. Squire and Allen report gradual distance increases and note naval and lighthouse use potential. They warn iron cages and zinc screens block waves and discuss wave interactions with water metal glass and rubber.
