Texas Governor Colquitt vetoes college funds amid debate
The article recounts Governor Colquitt's veto of A and M College and State University appropriations, critiqued by Braley and others as unjustified. It notes legislative inquiry led by Lt. Governor Mayes and comments on Texas investments, convict labor costs, and the broader political clash surrounding state-funded education. The piece also mentions local teachers visiting Brazos County and calls for community support.
