Tract Signed and Sealed for New City Hall Project
The contract to build the new city hall has been signed and sealed with details settled. Construction is set to begin next Thursday and must finish within about 100 working days, targeting mid February to early March. The site is planned on the old city hall lot with a 44 by 100 foot footprint, brick and cement facings, and nearby access through the Masonic hall lot. Local officials include Mayor Maloney and Aldermen Derlen and Bago, with Architect Jones overseeing. The Farmers’ Union Warehouse rail switch arrangement is also under discussion with H. & T. Railroad officials for action. The quarterly Bryan Methodist Conference will be held tomorrow night with Elder Wits presiding.
