An American party arriving in Del Rio Texas reports being stripped of valuables by Mexican bandits who pursued them to the Rio Grande. The raiders bore a red flag reading Liberty and seized cattle horses saddles and camp equipment as the group fled into the mountains.
An explosion in Dunmore near Scranton on March 20 killed a man and a woman and injured two others. The blast destroyed two families and damaged twenty buildings.
