A major blaze at Huey Philom Hardware, a three story Dallas firm on Mim and Griffin streets, caused massive power outages and smoke damage. Firemen narrowly escaped as bricks and falling poles threatened their escape. the blaze was controlled after three hours with no deaths.
Ten thousand dollars in cash prizes were awarded by the Texas Industrial Contest today. Charles A. Doss of Rockdale in Somervell County won the first prize of 1000 dollars. The second prize went to Berke Doss, the father, for the first prize.
