Evangelist Ham Under Fire At Sea Meeting Involving Titanic
A chaotic sermon on the Titanic voyage stirs controversy as Evangelist Ham condemns revelry aboard the liner while warning of divine judgment. He attacks worldly pleasures and warns that many seek material comforts, not faith, amid the church’s critique of modern temptation. A jumbled scan of historical notes mentions Cromwell, Kilkenny, wars with Spain, a Clarke and Lewin party at Fort Clatsop, Madrid entry by French soldiers, treaty talk with Japan, Kentucky governors, and a McNamaran incident. It blends ads for Doan’s Liver Pills, prices, and a Pittsburgh Post quotation about reportage.
