Milk House Floor Construction Advice
M. J. Regan and R. W. Oberlin of the Missouri College of Agriculture urge careful milk house floor construction. Proper design aids overall house cleanliness and efficiency, highlighting the floor as a vital component in dairy facilities.
Concrete milk house floor construction guidance
Concrete is best to resist moisture wear and decay in milk houses. The floor should be well drained four inches above ground, with tight joints to walls and smooth rounded edges. Provide one eighth to one fourth inch per foot slope and place floor drains near the sink for convenient cleaning.
