90th Infantry Division Arrives in France in June
The 90th Infantry Division landed in France on June 7 and entered combat June 10. It fought through towns including Pont L Abbe Amfreville and Garvesville, defending the southern flank with the 82nd Airborne and aiding Cherbourg efforts. The unit captured Forest of Mont Castro Hill 122 after four days of heavy, min-ed combat.

Langdon Receives Third Oak Leaf Cluster for Air Medal
Eighth Air Force Liberator crewman T/Sgt. Ernest Langdon Jr. of Cora Missouri earns a third Oak Leaf Cluster to the Air Medal for meritorious aerial missions over occupied Europe. Colonel Jacob J. Brogger presented the award at an England base as Langdon and his squadron, led by Major Myers B. Cather, supported bombing missions over Berlin Brunswick and other targets.
