Russell Whitfield, longtime Browning resident, dies at 62
Raymond Whitfield Russell died October 3 1934 after a life dividing time between Eversonville Linn County Missouri and Browning. He served on Browning city council and was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian and later M E South Church. Survived by wife Lilli Sampsell two children Hazel and James five brothers and two sisters and several grandchildren. Funeral services were held October 5 at the Russell home with burial in Jenkins cemetery.

Passenger Train Derails South of City Sunday
A southbound passenger train consisting of engine, coach and baggage car derailed near Lowe's branch south of the city at about 10 30 on Sunday. No one was seriously hurt. Emergency crews and section men worked to realign tracks with aid from nearby towns and the derailed cars were later placed back on the track. Passengers were jostled but safe as service resumed later. A list of local residents connected to the accident was provided.

Weiner Roast Farewell Party For Browning School
The seventh and eighth grade pupils of Browning School with teacher Miss Vera Freeland enjoyed a weiner roast at Jenkins Bluff Friday evening. They met at the park and walked to the bluff for games, a fire, supper, and marshmallow roasting.
