Death Claims a Mother in Stewartsville

Ida Inez Cunningham Atkins 47 died at home Friday November 18 1914 after a two week illness. Born March 17 1867 in Monroe county Indiana, she lived in Kentucky and Missouri before moving to Dekalb County in 1896. Survived by husband Richard R. Atkins six children aged 11 to 22, a mother three sisters and three brothers. Funeral in L D S church Sunday at 2 30 p.m. with sermon by T Z Hinders and service led by A W Head. Interment Stewartsville cemetery.

Agnes Horton Dies After Illness In San Juan

Agnes Horton born July 31 1884 attended Linneus high school three years joined the Baptist church at 17. She married Oscar M Furnas Sept 9 1903 and leaves Edna Virginia, husband, mother Mrs John Sparks, two half sisters Edna Ross and Delpha Sparks, one half brother Levi Sparks. She fell ill after visiting home folks and was laid to rest in San Juan Cemetery after starting for home with sister Edna Ross.

Operator Attacked by Robbers at Meadville Depot

Meadville Messenger reports that Monday night two men attacked depot operator W R Holt as he prepared to close for the night. Holt saved a sack containing about $30 by tossing it through the waiting room door. he was knocked unconscious but not seriously hurt and off duty this week.
