Raymond G Bailey son of Henry C and Minnie Clark Bailey born April 22 1882 died Friday morning November 11 1938 at 6 45 aged 56 years 6 months 19 days. Survived by three sisters and one brother. Funeral by Rev L H Maples at Baptist Church Browning with burial in Hoover Cemetery. Woodmen of America Lodge led burial rites.

On Friday evening November 18 at Jenkins Schoolhouse a large crowd enjoyed a program by teacher Mrs. Ella Burns and pupils. The Browning school band performed, Rev Hobbs and others gave numbers, talks on John R Kirk and the memorial project followed. Prize boxes were awarded to Hazel Grice and Gertrude Kille. hungriest man prize went to Carol Shatto.

Auditorium Annex Work Advances Rapidly at Local School
The school auditorium gymnasium annex sees rapid progress with concrete base poured and brickwork started. By November 16, twenty four local workers earned 486.31 dollars, trucks were paid 252 dollars, and lumber, cement, lime and brick sales reached about 3000 dollars. Wages run 1.25 to 0.35 dollars per hour for an eight hour day and forty hour week. Supervisor Lee Coroline and timekeeper Mrs. Cornelius are popular with workers as visitors frequent the site daily. PWA engineer H. A. Weller of Milan is now half time on the project.

The General Purpose Club postponed its November meeting due to bad roads and met November 17 at Mrs. Frank Kille’s home.
