Eliza Frances Cokerham Ogle born May 4 1857 near Enterprise died May 12 1944 at her daughter’s home in Kansas City Missouri. She married David G Ogle in 1876 and had eight children. Survived by six children and many grandchildren. services by Rev Har grove and interment in Purdin cemetery.

Mrs Mary Jane Ridnour 89 died May 9 1944 at her Browning Missouri home. She was born January 12 1855 west of Browning, married James W Ridnour in Browning June 2 1912, survived by her husband and a few relatives. A chicken dinner was served and a reading of The Robe praised. church funds grew to 186.35 with $70 added. National Selective Service Headquarters outlined draft prospects across age groups in a policy statement. Doris Hanman was elected leader of the community social club and Alma Browning led the sewing project. I Am An American Day May 21 Honours New Citizens

The Office of War Information reports I Am An American Day May 21 to honor 2,470,000 citizens who reached voting age and 400,000 foreign-born residents naturalized in 1945. Of the 400,000, 65,000 are in the armed forces and about 114,000 came from former enemy nations. From 1943 to April 15 this year, 4,635 foreign-born service members abroad were naturalized.

Restrictions on New Containers for Fresh Produce

War Food Administration alerts growers that packing and shipping fruits and vegetables in new wooden containers after June 30 are restricted for items including cantaloupes melons cerrots cauliflower celery cucumbers grape juice and table grapes lettuce and radishes. Plan acreage to ensure sufficient quotas of new and used containers for expected production. Growers packing themselves must verify their container quotas and supply and commercial packers should confirm packers have enough new or old containers to meet requirements.
