Very Painfully Burned Man Survives Fire After Stove Explodes
Frank Brown a farmer near the city suffered severe burns to his face left shoulder and hands when a coal oil heating stove exploded last Thursday night Mrs Brown had lit the stove for milk and went back to bed awakening him as flames neared the ceiling Neighbors extinguished the blaze but the rug wallpaper and some windows were damaged The couple escaped with their lives and are fortunate to survive the incident.

Rev A B Coffman Dies. Fairfax Pastor Succumbs
The Rev A B Coffman pastor of the Southern Methodist church in Fairfax died suddenly Friday morning April 22 at his Fairfax home after about three weeks of illness following an attack while conducting services at Rupe's Grove church. Funeral services were held Sunday April 24 at Liberty with the presiding elder Rev W O White and other ministers assisting. He visited his son the late Rev Harold G Coffman and helped at a revival at the M E Church South here. He leaves a wife and four daughters.

Mrs J A Burkholder of east Purdin was taken to a Kirksville hospital after an appendicitis operation performed Monday morning. Dr H P Haning of Purdin was called Sunday evening around five o clock and advised immediate hospital admission. Friends wish her a speedy recovery.
