The board met Saturday and elected E. M. Wilson assistant principal Miss Jon Grammar Miss E Nickell inter Miss Maude Fields Miss Rose Linneus primary Renee Clarkson with teachers to start the term. A fire damaged Mr Isman s wing but was quickly quenched with little damage. Nearby hay and corn were noted as on hand for sale by H Cray Jones.

Obituary of R M Johnson Born in Indiana in 1843
R M Johnson born August 29 1843 in Indiana died May 3 1905 at Browning Missouri aged 61 years 8 months 4 days. He moved from Indiana to Bloomington Illinois then Mount Pleasant Iowa and settled in Linn County Missouri around 1866. He married Anna E Calhoun May 2 1869 and had three children Permelia Ella Thurlo and J Arthur Johnson who preceded him about two years ago. Funeral at First Baptist Church conducted by Rev Drinkard of Laredo. Interment Hoover Cemetery. He was a longtime Baptist and Odd Fellow.

Rudolph Hanged at Union Missouri for Bank Robbery and Murder
The Union Bank robber Rudolph Hanged after murdering Detective Schumacher. About two hundred spectators witnessed the execution. Rudolph refused sustenance, discussed burial with Collins, and was denied the request to lie beside his confederate. His criminal career ended with the 1904 execution.

Fluid on Laredo street sparks guess of oil or spring
Residents gathered as a mysterious liquid surfaced on Main Street near the Commercial Hotel in Laredo. A local company formed with A. C. Tolson as president to develop the find, but officials later determined it was drainage from an old cave near the hotel.

Man Arrested for Subscribing Fraud in Bucklin Area
A man calling himself F. E. Davis was arrested in Chillicothe for obtaining money by false pretenses. He took one dollar from H. M. Sherkshire near Bucklin for a two weekly Globe subscription. Sherkshire alerted the Globe-Democrat, who confirmed the fraud. Davis pleaded guilty and received three months in Linneus jail.
