Services for Ora Bennett Held May 5

Ora Arthur Bennett died May 2 1950 at age 71 after a serious operation in Laughlin Hospital Kirksville. Born March 28 1879 on the Bennett farm he was survived by one brother Ray Bennett one sister Mrs Carrie Sayers and a sister in law. Funeral services were held at Dryridge Church May 4 1950 conducted by Rev Geeda Christy with pallbearers J N Mundell Grover Gable Walter Crooks Mark Alspach Frank Maggart Lloyd Bowyer. Interment at nearby cemetery under Wade Funeral Service.

Students Tour Kansas City on Two Day Trip

A Browning class of eighteen left May 5 for a two day Kansas City tour led by Ted Brantner. They breakfasted at Camer on, visited Independence, Nelson Art Gallery, Swope Park, Union Station, Liberty Memorial, shopped in city stores, rode Municipal Airport planes, ate in Independence and Cameron, then returned home by 8:30 p.m. The trip was organized by Mrs. Kenley, Mr. Freeland, and parents, with thanks to Ted.

Vacation Bible School at Methodist Church Dates Announced

The annual Vacation Bible School will run Monday May 29 from 9 to 11 50 and continue to June 9 at the Methodist Church. Ages 4 through 12 attend kindergarten through Junior classes. Later a Youth Caravan for Intermediates and young peoples groups will be sponsored by the church. Every child 4 to 12 inclusive is welcome.
